Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Review
Iíve always liked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when I was a kid. It feels like it was only yesterday when they finally defeated that hideous alive brain. I always liked Shredder though since heís the coolest character around. Anyway, as technology progresses and so did this story. The turtles are back and this time, thereís a new set of enemies to save the world from. Basing from the Movie, this TMNT game seems a lot more kiddie in style but the graphics are generally nice. Itís time to scrutinize the game.
First off, this game is centered on kids, so you wonít probably see some hard to do puzzles around. This was the first game developed by Ubisoft., the makers of Prince of Persia. And judging from the Prince of Persia, this is a graphic intensive game which can attract gamers of graphic preference. The depth of the game, however, is not that deep.
In each level, all you have to do is jump and kill some enemies. Itís good to see that Ubisoft has scaled the difficulty of the game a bit to accommodate a younger audience, but I think the difficulty is not that scaled back. There are some elements that require such timing and precision and the camera angle is not really helping as well. The fixed camera angle is pretty much very obtrusive and will give you a hard time making those important jumps.
Well, about the story. Itís kinda related to the movie well, not in exact details but youíll still be able to participate on some of the movie elements. The levels are highly detailed but definitely not that hard for players. Unfortunately, as I have stated before, even though this is pretty much a kiddie game, some elements really requires patience and accuracy which most kids donít have. They shouldíve made the game more easier to play with. Anyway, I think kids will pretty much enjoy the acrobatics the turtles does. However, in time they will know that the acrobatics and the fighting moves are pretty much repetitive and will be look like dull in the middle of the game.
The sound quality ainít bad since the characters where properly voiced and the music score is actually enjoyable. It really lets you in the mood of the environment that will help in creating that immersive gameplay atmosphere.
Anyway, the game pretty much has its strong points, especially the graphics. But the storyline and gameplay pretty much ruined it all. For casual gamers, please avoid this game, it isnít really worth your time at all. But as for the fans, youíll probably enjoy this game.
